Transaction Management

Categorization, data entry, and organization of all financial transactions.

Every report your business produces is built from categorized transactions. If the categories are wrong, everything downstream is wrong with them, and it is wrong in a way that looks perfectly reasonable on the page.

I handle categorization and data entry for every transaction that moves through your accounts. Each charge, deposit, transfer, and payment lands in the right account, described consistently, in the period it actually belongs to.

Consistency is the part that is easy to underestimate. When the same supplier gets entered three different ways across a year, your reports quietly split one vendor into three, and spending that would have been obvious at a glance never shows up. When a capital purchase is coded as an ordinary expense, your profit for the month is understated and your balance sheet is missing an asset. Neither of these produces an error message.

I also maintain your chart of accounts rather than letting it grow on its own. Most sets of books accumulate categories over time until there are dozens of overlapping options and nobody is sure which one to use. A chart of accounts that reflects how your business actually works makes categorizing faster and reports more useful, and it makes the year-end conversation with your tax preparer considerably shorter.

Receipts and supporting documentation are part of this too. Records attached to the transactions they belong to are records you can actually produce if you are ever asked for them, without reconstructing a year from memory and a folder of paper.

The work happens inside QuickBooks Online, Xero, or Wave, in the platform you already use. You forward what comes in, or connect the accounts once and let transactions flow through. From there, keeping the books organized stops being something you carry.
